Looking in, upon the workings of a lifetime proud
In review, of all the talents and the miracles that echo loud
Taking stock of every magic moment at its bubbly crest
Looking in, the spirit of a lifeline blooms between the pages pressed

Seeing far into the past and up ahead this intuition rules
Looking in and out without a blink and holding of these treasured tools
Seeking all the wonder that of youth might once be missed
Seeing and embracing every upward climb and every turn and twist

Dreaming still to burst my heart enough to hold another cup
In remembering the emptiness a spacious place for filling up
Seeing soon how these events have taken hold and shaped the land
Looking in, to watch in awe the promises once made by my own hand

I really enjoyed this ThisDiamond. Have you thought of writing a version that doesn't rhyme? The only reason I bring this up is because your words in each line are like a long, flowing line of water, and then they're stopped abruptly by the rock of the rhyme. Rhyming is definitely not a bad thing, but it usually works better when there isn't so many words between the beginning of the line and the end. I' should be used t' enhance the rhythm, no' counteract against it.

However, I'm notorious (among myself) for changing my opinions on second and third and fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, etc. readings. So this one might grow on me like a bed of lichen yet.

Really enjoyed.

BRAVO!!! This is wonderful, sweet friend, yes, yes, promises must always be held above the surface of everything, for they will come true and their fortunes are inevitable!
