Iambe never minced words
Or onions for that matter
But like the onion’s sting
Both could make your eyes water
If you were too close

I’d been out on the Redrock
Moving cattle from one section
To new pasture on the Pantois River
Trying to scrape together enough money
To trade my old truck for one with
Fewer holes in the floorboards

I’m not sure what set her off
But I know my short answer to her first
Slice of words was no help

I poured myself a cup of coffee
Sat down at the table across from her
And listened as she told me
She hadn’t seen me changing fast enough
To suit her tastes and that I was never
Going to get it….

Now I am not sure what “it” was
So maybe she is right on that point
I did however know what I was getting
From her right now wasn't an IT
I'd ever understand and that
mincing onions was prefered to
mixing words with Iambe

thank you poet sir...this moth loves getting her way *L* ... and like your writing...Iambe has many fans here....
would I seem greedy to ask for more?
and I know you already know this...but...
I like the ones where she gives "it" to you the way you like "it"   rofl

would be to know pain
her loss
our gain

What makes her the cats meow anyway?!! Chris

Cat Hair~ Oh I just love when lambe tickles your muse!   I love the onion analogy and how you started and ended with it.  I echo the above, more more!

*hugs*

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.
Thank you for having the courage to share yourself so that I can too
