I have failed to make a dent in the world My accident of birth in not a failure The miracle lies in my lack of success While others try to keep me locked up In a jail cell sentenced to absurdity My maker will create my rainbow In a smile that hides tears my heart breaks My prayers seek out a blessing A void is what I feel sentenced to I have failed, yet succeeded For those that have given up on me Will rise again to denounce me And as my sad smile gains strength My army will blossom in hope That this lonely one can reach a heaven On this piece of earth And in friends that believe in fairy tales My world will claim me As a person worth believing in That God let stay here While some more worthy were taken away So my path lies in your eyes Saying a prayer to humanity And the peace that can come over The minds of all his children So if I fail send me hand to steady me While I stumble forward To my destiny in Gods time Email me if at davelyoung1@hotmail.com D.Lester Young (04/15/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) http://www.authorsden.com/visit/author.asp?AuthorID=5012 |

DLYoung~ Oh ... there is no 'failure' in poetry thoughts as profound as this~ 'And in friends that believe in fairy tales My world will claim me As a person worth believing in' I believe~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

And as my sad smile gains strength My army will blossom in hope That this lonely one can reach a heaven On this piece of earth I really enjoyed your poem, especially what you said about the army of hope. If we aren't prepared how can we possibly fight the battle!! Nice work~ |
