A Superficial Victory Oh, one moment, many moments ago The unordinary grazed her without warning at all She tried to simplify her own hearts secret She was so unaware she could ever fall... But, she did, and into the clouds of salvation Where she thought she'd denied it beneath dull skies She was about to reward herself for forgetting Until she was standing spotlight to all those lies... Thoughts once convincing drives herself now insane Truly exposed, he can't see, so she walks as before Being strong in her superficial victory to not feeling a thing Her silver lining to pretending isn't quite as secure... The urge becomes stronger, like the winds, about to collect in a storm To even hold back what she's not supposed to be For, she can taste something new that she shouldn't On her way to gaining her superficial victory... For the love of peace and for the peace of love Can she hold what she dares long enough Just until one sunrise salutes the next new dawn Taking a little something real with her as she moves on... Cause, she always ran but never with this much grace For, she'll do the miles for just a glimpse of his face She'll hide behind her self built walls he can't see Closing her eyes and granting herself another false victory... I like the closing here, we often like to pretend the victory is ours especially in winning romance..well done |

"hide behind self-built walls". . . those are the hardest to tear down. . . great work here Saunni. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
