I lost my pencil, O' woe is me,
Where or where, can my pencil be?
I know some folks called it a nub,
With no eraser with which to rub,
But boy that pencil sure could write,
Wrote smooth as silk with pure graphite,
It could write poems, it could write prose,
Heck fire, it even could scratch my nose,
I know my pencil is outdated,
But them computers are overrated,
My pencil never crashed, not once,
It can be ran, by me, a dunce.
Down to earth with no conceit,
My little pencil is hard to beat,
It doesn't think that it's the best,
To be number one is not its quest,
My pencil tries it best for you,
Stamped on its side is number 2.
Where art thou pencil, where can you be?
Please, please come home and write for me.

I've never had a pencil crash either.....I like the implications of searching for the pencil to write!
