"wake up baby, c'mon and take a look outside,"
she said, "there's a full moon shining in the morning light
and there's a cool breeze blowing like a piper's pipe
and there's tongues of fire chasing the night."

there's the smell of fresh coffee floating through the door
and I can hear her foosteps on the kitchen floor,
the radio clock's playing an old Taylor tune
and I'm under a spell between the sun and the moon.

  Chorus
Oh the tongues of fire she brings to me,
  show me her inward cares
and the anxious hopes she needs to seek
  are dreams we both share
and in the heat she's savin me
from a heart froze in despair.

I was answerin the call on dead boulevard
Just a one way lover with ice in my heart
but she came along to melt  the freeze
now a reason for livin is settin me free.

Oh ..there's tongues of fire unlocking time
there's a voice in my soul calling my mind
and there's a breath on my heart like a warm summer breeze
and there's tongues of fire glowing in me.

spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

I loved the title... and knew by the time I'd finished the first verse that the title was only the beginning of the excellence. *S* Great write, ethome!

Eric

You paint the feeling of love with a song...and it aches and breaks and feels so right, in the moring after the darkest night...sorry, got carred away there with my own song.  In other words, I loved it!

a one-way lover with ice in my heart....very cool line, Eric.

Strong lyrics here...it would play well, I think

Great work!

YOU ARE SOOOOOOO COOOOL!!!
THIS ROCKS!!!

"and there's tongues of fire chasing the night."

Music man Music Man!!!!
The imagery...the metaphor and theme...the melodics...the verbiage and word play...all of it dressed up in your gift of turning verse into lyric...rhyme into Rock and Roll.
Eric this is delightful!!!! and very very cool
(but then so is the poet.)

When mans concern narrows, poetry reminds him the diversity of existence
