Is silence some new language?
Do I need Berlitz to comprehend?
How can hear ‘I love you’
If I can’t understand what you intend?

Is there some way for me to know?
If brow raising means I should stay?
Or if the shoulder hunches so,
does that mean ‘just go away’?

At my wit’s end, I must confess
I called the United Nations to see
If they know an interpreter or if
the language is in their inventory

I must say you have it mastered
Speaking in silent tongues to me
But then, I must confess to you
I do the same in my poetry!

You are on fire tonight, lady! I don't understand how you are doing this, but I'm glad that you do.

I like the theme of this--and now something is planted in my mind...you inspire me.

You are amazing, yanno.

Damn, that's good!  I get it!  Sorry, I'm just so impressed with myself, when I do.
Very much liked this, Sharon.

Forgetting all I'm lacking
Completely and complete
I'll take your invitation
You take all of me

Thank you both for reading....I've been writing furiously tonight..gotta catch that muse when she's awake you know?

And this is just another way of saying that though you MAY think you understand what I say in my poetry, don't be so sure!!

Oh yes.. That "Read my mind" language... I've known a few who've spoken it fluently... Nice write, PdV...

My tongue is numb
And my voice is dumb,
When struck by your beauty,
I can’t say the words,
So nothing is heard,
And I just watch quietly.

I just stand in shadow
With no words to borrow,
Unable to express my feeling,
I can’t tell you why
Near you I’m so shy,
But I fear and must be leaving.

Sharon, I always thought, I was the only one who had to deal with this "speaking in silent tongues." I wouldn't wish this on anyone. But, I'm sure glad to know that I am not the only one who has to deal with this.

I have only one thing to say about this. . .

               ,               . . .                   :
. . .                      ,                         ?               . . .

To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world.

It's no new language and it sure communicates so perfectly on certain occasions.
I hope that call to the UN worked out well for you and they gave you the phone # of an interpreter.
Actually brow raising means you've really caught the attention of the brow raiser.
I really like the ending!

This is so clever, PDV...I would say that your muse is really on a roll tonight.

I have found that more people understand the language of silence than the lanuage of poetry.

A lovely piece of art.
