When Rules Don’t Apply

            Restless with the present,
  it leaves her feeling tense,
               she wants the future now,
                      but nothing makes word sense.

She’s missing              an action,
                          stuck in a world of nouns,
a sentence incomplete
             forms muddled, foreign sounds.

                         When every thought ends in
         riddles and question marks,
                decisions unmade
                       leave the future unmarked.
