When hope dies, and there's nothing left to do
Do you keep fighting or do you just know you're through
Despite your my sister, and I love you more than I can say
I knew this day would come...when I would have to turn and walk away

Your lies have consumed us all, but this pain I didn't expect even from you
Just goes to show sometimes those that "love" you the most, are the ones to make you most blue
I started to cry, even before I knew my tears had started to fall
As I recall the last twenty years, in my mind the memories play, as I run through them all

Why are you so unhappy, and why have you made it your mission to make those around you feel the same
Aren't you tired of being lonely, tired of these heartbreaking games
I don't know what else to do, I'm truly out of words for the first time in my life
I guess that's what happens when you are constantly bombarded with pain and strife

You couldn't even pick up a phone, and share the news with me
I had to find out from another, that you are getting married and having a baby
When did it all go wrong, what did I honestly ever do to you
You're the one that shattered my heart, painted my soul shades of blue

For years I blamed myself, I wondered what we all could have done differently to make things right
Each time you would scream your words of hate, I still blamed myself for the fight
It took years of coming to terms with the truth, to see you for who you really are
A selfish girl who keeps pushing her limits, no matter how far

Do you ever cry when you're alone for the damaged you've caused to those around you
Or do you simply shrugg it off, continuing to do what you do
I have to turn and walk away, for my own sanity
I hope somehow someway you set your demons free

Maybe when the years have faded, and things occur as they are meant to be
Then and only then will both of our souls be set free
Until then sister of mine...take care, try and take care of you
Though you won't hear from me...I'll be the warm breeze protecting and surrounding you

"you can't stop
the rain
from pouring down
can't stop the
world from turning 'round
can't stop me from
loving you
no matter
what you do"

Aimster~

What a write...and what a tearful subject matter.  I ache for anyone going through this type of pain.  Although I'm a rotten, only child (not in denial here), I've watched the relationship between my own mother and her older sister take many different turns.  This write of yours sounds just like you consulted the two of them!  Someimes when we take a step back from those who seem so adamant to deny us, in time, things will come full-circle.  This is a very heartfelt issue you've displayed for us in Passions.  I wish you peace.

Hi Amy! I like the pic

This poem touched me dearly because it reminds me of me and my older sister and how we just can't seem to get along.
She feels that because she is older than me that she can control me. We fight and then make up days later, only to fight again, im sooooo tired of it. I deal with her the best that I can because no matter what she is going to be my sister forever and nothing can change that fact. Good Luck to you my friend! ((hugs))

So painful to read my friend, it will all work out in due time.  Keep strong for you and her, and never lose sight of hope

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

Great write, Amy, and she will feel each and every time that breeze gathers speed, no matter how strong or mild it appears. Awesome, and I wish the best for you both.

Ahhh, sweet Amy/Aim, gentle smile. It is the freedom that you give to yourself that counts, for I learned long ago that you can't live anothers life for them or change them, only to change the hurt in ourselves and know that we are okay. It was never us...

Everybody could use a warm breeze like that

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

You are such a caring soul Amy~
I'm sorry for the love that you miss sharing with your sister.  I took comfort in the warm breeze of your words and I hope she too will feel you there surrounding her.

hugs to you~
