Inside the oceans of sweet dreams
there's places you can't run nor walk
and you get caught up in a stream
on a slumber boat of scattered thoughts
You see a face there you adore
and she offers you her breast
you reach for her but she's no more
oh she looked so much like Beth

I live with memories locked in mind
since I laid her soul to rest.
and my heart aches for a time,
a time, for life after Beth.

The search for inner peace of mind
on the narrow trail to light
comes with a rough and rocky climb
through passages of love and strife.
You find a goal to set you free
to share until the shades of death
and you give your soul to your needs
but you give your heart to Beth

I live with memories locked in mind
since I laid her soul to rest.
and my heart aches for a time,
a time, for life after Beth.

This is strictly ficticious!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Eric, I am so glad this is only fictitious, this is beautiful but so very sad too and filled with yearning, sweet friend, I think some can relate to the torment of such remembrance like this sometimes and my heart goes out to them all! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Eric, this piece absolutely aches.
It is sad that such beautifully expressed poetry
must come from such a loss.

Eric

Glad that this is ficticious, for the feeling is certainly real.  As always, you write with heart.

Ah Eric, you must have added the fact that
this is fictitious while I was posting my comment.
This is the sign, to me anyway, of a very creative writer...
one who can indeed use words so profound, and in such a way, as to make the reader actually  believe what is written, to be true!
Once again...Wonderful!!

PT darling boy you hold souls lilting song in your words, this is a powerful emotive piece of writing, truly outstanding. Do I love this? Tell me what do you think?

I love it its Absolutely Perfection personified. Where would souls go if it wasn't ’or your voice reaching out to speak for them. YOU are the light that leads them back home darling heart. There are those out there who will relate to this, they will nod their heads in agreement and say yes oh yes. As always darling your writing is exceptionally good. And as I always say it always was, and always will be, you are a very very superior writer and I love this utterly

Love and warm stuff

How do you do this? Over and over again, with different themes, you write words that breathe. Well done!

Oh, Eric, my heart goes out to you, and, I swear, I know this feeling so well. It seems like it's so hard to "live" like you did and hard to find out how you did before. She is with you always, I just hope that helps you, because she really is! And, smiling all the way. Life after Beth will come again when you least expect it to. It's a promise. Great write, just wish you didn't hurt so much.

Well done.

ETHome~
As longingly lovely as if you'd lived it~

I don't think any poetic thought is 'fictious' ...
just meant to spring from someone else's inkwell~

Catalinamoon  thank you for the fine thoughts!

Marge....I guess you're right....poets pick up pieces of everyone's life as they go along and they seem to live to write about them!  Thank Marge.
