I can See

I finally got em
I'm no longer blind
now all of the streets
are easy to find

I can even read
every letter in signs
no more excuses
to be late all the time

I can even discern
each blade of grass
and each speck of rust
on the old underpass

my car's speedometer
I can finally read
how did I ever not
get a ticket for speed

I now see each leaf
on every tree
instead of the blur
it all used to be

pricetags and sizes
at last I can see
its time for that splurge
on a huge shopping spree

but in the mirror
without sight impaired
I see lines and wrinkles
I thought weren't there

no wonder, I thought
I looked young for my years
my looks are much better
with vision unclear

But overall
I must say with glee
that life is much clearer
when I can see

LOL this is very cute, in the mirror you see the beauty of yourself a little clearer.

Those fine lines
defining your time
are nothing but proof
of how brightly you shine

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

Love and warm stuff

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire

Thanks so much, Marsha...this is really true.
Its so nice to be able to see again.
I knew that I needed reading glasses, but my distance vision deteriorated so gradually that I didn't really notice it until I was trying to drive around Ann Arbor where I didn't know the street names and had to read them off the signs.
Here in Kalamazoo, I know all the names of the streets, so I never bother even to read the signs...which is probably why I didn't notice it until recently.

(smiles) YAY!!! Oh Lyra, I know just how youn feel, sweet friend, when I was younger my eyesight was poorer and I am far-sighted, so my mom took me to eye therapy and it helped me adjust my eyes and for a while I wore spectacles, now my eyesight is great and if it ever happens again, I wouldn't mind wearing contacts or spectacles! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

(BIGGGGGG FAR-SIGHTED HUGS! )

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

How clever of you, Lady C
to find with glasses, poetry
how now best to find your pen
to write us poems once again...

Lyra

I know just what you mean...I just can see things close up.  Glasses are a real eye opener..and this poem was adorable, sort of like you.  Hugs!

Thanks so much, Noah....I'm glad that you are seein so well nowadays...
I am both nearsighted and farsighted...
I never thought that was possible because I would think that one would cancel the other out...but I guess they don't.  So my glasses are trifocals...for near, far and the computer...

Lyra, you are just so much fun
and are able to laugh and joke about
the serious side of life as well.
Enjoyed so much.

Lyra,

Woohoo!  Congratulations on being able to see the tangible things a little clearer! You were always able to see the other stuff, like inner beauty and the heartbeat of life, without your glasses.  I could always tell that from your poetry.   There are some things that you don't need any help to see - some people just have that gift, and you are one of them!

Thanks Kacy...you are so right...so, I will take those glasses off when I look in the mirror...but it sure is nice to see everything else...including everyone else's wrinkles that I didn't see before.
