False Hope She’d held the hope to her Heart for years now Telling herself that it was Just circumstances that Kept her and her dearest Love apart But was it? Wasn’t she simply Clinging to a dream? A wish that would Never come true Wasn’t this a false hope? Something that She used to shade her Soul from The thought of Despair. Which is worse? To give false hope to A dream’s dearest wish Or to look into someone’s Eyes, eyes that bleed Hope’s promise And say the words They dread to hear? That is the dilemma What is the answer? And which would You do? Would you? Foster that child of Dream’s love Watch it Learning Breathing Growing more Certain every day Or Strike it down before It had taken it’s first Faltering steps? Whichever you chose It will hurt It will cause Pain to jack-knife Through the soul Such is the dilemma And such is the choice Of dreamers heart Krissy Mushy challenge phrase for this week …………Which is worse to give false hope of a dream’s dearest wish or to look into someone’s eyes and say the words they dread to hear? And while thy willing soul transpiers at every pore with instant fires Andrew Marvell 1621-1678 [This message has been edited by Krissy (05-31-2002 07:17 PM).] |

Me, I'd tell the truth, my friend, though tempered maybe to ease the fall (assuming we're talking pain here), but the truth for sure, I've always found that easier to bear than living under falsehoods. Not that truth itself isn't painful, but it tends not to drag out the pain with linging, dying hope. Good write. jwesley |

This is a real dilema for sure and actually a dreamer's nightmare. But the truth always ends up being the better choice as it always surfaces somewhere along the line. This is a good write!! |

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Krissy, this is such a powerful question, sweet friend, I think it depends on the situation; if there is much expectation that something bad can happen one should always have the courage to say the words, otherwise hope is the best motivation! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Krissy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Which is worse? To give false hope to A dream’s dearest wish Or to look into someone’s Eyes, eyes that bleed Hope’s promise And say the words They dread to hear? This poem is quite beauiful, Krissy... and the above quote really hits home with me right now, because I am going to find out some truths this week...and they may not be truths I want to know.... ~ truthful hugs Lyra |

As someone who was not too long ago involved in a situation that dealt with this very question, I must say that truth, though it may be hard to swallow and hurt like the dickens, is the best way to go. There will always be repercussions and consequences from the choices that we make, but the best choices are the ones that involve the truth and doing what is right. At least that is what I have found in my experience. But, of course, there are no easy answers. Fortunately, things are now working out quite well in my situation, though for a long time, I didn't know what to do or how I would be able to get through each day without questioning if what I was doing was right. Your poem is beautifully written. Emotions pours through every line. Wonderfully done. ~What is cherished most is what must be the hardest fought for.~ |

Well done, Kissy. I think if it was me, I would rather hold on to hope, it is SO hard to go on without it. Sandra |

Hearing thoughts Others reveal Pondering feelings Enduring heartaches All part of one wish...part of the dream... For, without hope... |
