Listening to every heart

Purple Days to Come

I am going to grow old
          gracefully
          and revel in quiet
          and peace
          and books
          and leaf
          through passages
          one by one by one

          I shall wear purple
socks and hats and gloves and lingerie robes
          perhaps not all at once
          but to amuse grandchildren
          maybe I shall;

          yes, I will wear purple,
          have white hair
          and wear my glasses
          while sipping tea,
          and there shall
          be wine at the
          required time, half past today

          when this moment comes
          as it must and shall
          I will leaf
          through pages of friends
          once well met
          in blue walls of passion

          some will have gone away
          some will have never strayed
          in the pages I leaf
          friends well met
          never to forget

          and I shall see you
          all in purple’s haze
          even on the sunniest days

                   ~ ~ ~

          in the spirit’s realm
          in sonnets sung
          at Cap’n’s helm
          on Cape Cod’s bay

          Seattle shall call
          the Floridian skies
          to meld upon pages
          before my eyes,

          Texas troubadours
          too shall meet
          balladeers shall sing
          looking suthern in mem’ry
          and devinely
          hear the call
          of an Aussie sweet

          and in the cold
          of northern clime
          I’ll find sweet poet’s
          rhyme of days of
          yore
          forevermore

          here, held
          in my hands
          veined in purple
          to match
          the rest of me

          and forever shall
          painters of prose
          permit
          purple to hold
          sunshine…

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh ohhh ohhh ohhh... this is BEAUTIFUL!!!

You've done it, reduced me to tears. What a special way to show friendship and girl, purple is the color of life, is it not?

Oh definitely a standing ovation here

...and her crown was formed by the ice in her eyes

And after a day at the mall...

This is a gorgeous poem, Karilea...I missed it the first time, so I'm glad you re-posted it.  The white haired lady wearing purple reminds me of my late mother in law.
She had the world's biggest collection of purple earrings, purple clothes and everything else purple that you can think of.
She even had purple luggage....and she had white hair and glasses.
She would have loved this poem.

YAY!!! Oh Karilea, this is absolutely beautiful, sweet friend, this too reminded me of Jimi Hendrix and the purpole haze, you always make words erupt like smoke in poetic intensity! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Kari darling sister of my heart, you know there’s a place within each of us, and perhaps because we write it is closer to the surface of us here in PiP’s, but it’s in us all, that place where dreams merge with images of what might have beens and possibly. Where the future and the past merge into written sighs of agreement and a whispered yes. This is the place that your writing takes me too. This is the place of hearts sighs and souls ache, where shadows whisper secrets and pain throbs in echo. Where thoughts trip across my sigh and I can speak to this breath of how inside.

What I’m trying to say darling heart is your writing carries me to the place of inspiration where I find the words I need to write my soul. I love this absolutely divinely written art form. Your writing is utterly utterly perfect and I love it utterly

And YOU knew I'd say that didn't you?

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

Purple grapes,  fresh crepes.
Shoes that shuffle the floor
Wine that flows, passion knows.
Katie,  come and lock this door.

Yes our Sunny One,  you will love just
Grapey in purple...while you read some
incredible poetry from your passionate
friends....
