As your footsteps
become all the more faint
the silence is liquifying my emotions
You left my feelings drifting
aimlessly away with the current
far beyond the melancholic waterfall
only to have to work their own way
back to the deserted shore
At times I think I see you...I blink
then your image fades away
Like a ray of sunlight
I can still feel your warmth
yet it is only the shadows of futility
that I am able to embrace
I can't look ahead towards the future
until I manage to dig myself
out of this grave from the past
To find a love as perfect
as the love we once had
the very gods of humility
I will have to implore
All the affectionate memories
of my life up to that point
I have tried in vain to suppress
that which was most important to me
is all I have been able to recall
Solace from this predicament
is all I presently choose to seek
as my spiritual being tries to cure itself
from this weakening disease
through every tender droplet
streaming down my cheek

Staring into the sun just makes you blind to what beauty actually exists in the sky.

Paul!
Writing about it like this is the beginning of a new perspective. Wonderful images!

Very enchanting.  You've expressed beautifully, the futility of trying to re-discover 'perfection'.  Writing (for me anyway) is the best way of dealing with these trials.

Thank you Poet deVine, I try to use as much
abstract and metaphoric imagery as I can.
