Anniversary in Key of C

In quiet heart, I write this hymn
Anniversary in key of C
With crystal pen the song is writ
Sonnet to passion’s tranquillity

Solo tunes sung in exultation
Each word written - Glorious!
United, together we are singing
A magnificent poetic chorus

Fervent choristers now surround
My place in your aria’s glory
This one voice among the many
Whispering my poet’s story

You gently took my hand in yours
Encouraged me in my flourish
Never did you seek more from me
Then to give my journey nourish

Though clear the path before me
I walked in hesitation
Reticent to yield this heart
But teased with fascination

First sharing brought serenity
Easing of commitment’s dread
Lost in comfort of good friends
Words swirled around my head

With crystal pen I write these words
In thanks for all you give
A sanctuary from worldly woes
A gentle poetic place to live

Three years ago I posted here
Shyly offering my humble rhyme
Where did it go? How could it be?
This quick passage of my time?

The quickening of our yesterday
Began the dawn of my beguile
And at the last I will remember
The glimmer of just your smile

On December 5, 1998, Ron posted one of my poems on the main site of Passions In Poetry. That was the beginning of my relationship at PiP.

At that time there was no forum here – that came later. After the original forum, there was the infamous ‘blue pages’ – Old Blue. I joined that forum in March, 1999.

On May 26, 1999, I joined the forum that you see here. We quickly had 100 poets and a lot of them are still here today. Many members have come and gone, and we get newbies every day, but the one thing that remains constant is the ‘feeling’ here. The warmth, the camaraderie and the sheer love of poetry will never be found on any other poetry forum.Because of YOU….Thank you for three wonderful years.

"Because of YOU"

and the poem is gorgeous YOU YOU YOU...
but I was left struck with the thought that?
"SHE DOES NOT REALIZE"

you don't even know, how much of your own essence is in that of what you love..or do you?

YOU...are in the heart of passion...you are a vital part of what you seem to seek..and like a girl child, you don't even know yet, that you are beautiful!!!

Happy Anniversary, My Sister of Soul.

You make moments worth waiting for.

one of the things you never mention, sharon, is the wealth of commitment and energy you've brought to passions. your time and heart has been a driving force that has at times held us together, healed us, kept us going.

i can say with complete convinction and honest warmth, that without you, passions would not be what it is today... nor, to tell the truth, would i.

thank you dear friend, for being you.

C

and i think i'm going to come back and add a few more things - remember the time you came up with that idea? yeah, that one, i know you know. you were right of course, as usual. and the time you comforted me, laughed with me, cried with me, inspired me, consoled, cajoled, kidded with, suggested to, pointed out, dug in, right away, never left out. i can think of a hundred things to say about you, and not a single one of them negative. i feel truly honored to have come to know you my friend, truly honored.

Congratulations on the three years and the times you enjoyed before that. It's always been a delight to read your work. I seem to remember some fun you started down in the teen forum and we all had a laugh over the many many responses. So the fun has been there along with the compassionate seriousness of this forum.
I like this verse in your poem and totally agree..
"With crystal pen I write these words
In thanks for all you give
A sanctuary from worldly woes
A gentle poetic place to live"

Just too true!
May you continue with this joy forever where ever you are!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

When I think of passions, I can't divorce it from certain people, who over my nearly three years here, have become integral to this place - and form more than a part of it.

You're one of those people Sharon. This place would simply not be the passions I know were you to leave.

You, my dear, are absolutely irreplacable - and I genuinely mean that (it isn't to kiss your butt I promise lol... )

hugs you...and thanks for the years.

This is so beautifully said...

Its amazing how fast 3 years pass.  It was exactly 3 years ago today, that we buried my first husband.  This verse says so much to me.

Sharon, firstly let me Congratulate you on your third anniversary here at Passions.
Sencondly, let me thank you for making me feel welcome on my first days here and for taking me under your wing. I'll never forget that first challenge you gave me hehe "spilled purse" sheesh I must go back and have a read
Anyway, Passions wouldn't be the same without you and without your help, Passions  wouldn't have the comraderie (sp) that it has today.

Again thank you

you know that "Thank you" just won't do. . .

I could write so much in this space for you. . . you've done so much for me. . . more than I will probably ever know. . .

my life is indeed better for knowing you. . . without you. . . well, let's just say that my life would be emptier. . .

yes, "thank you" just isn't enough. . . but, it's all that I can really say. . . Thank you Sharon. . . for everything. . .
