She Rode Paper Ponies

~*Marge Tindal*~

In the dimly-lit attic
she found a chest of treasured words
Books chock-full of adventuresome thoughts
like none she'd ever heard~

Chores all done at set of sun
she'd climb the stairs with ease
Then settle down among the pages
travelling a reader's impossible dreams~

There was no place she could not go
within the author's storied pride
From a foot locker of poverty she learned
that paper ponies she could ride~

So she rode her paper ponies
until the sun came up each morn
Somewhere along the word-path from the attic
another writer was born~

This brought back many memories. I used to read everything I could get my hands on and LIVED each story. Well told tale, Marge...one that many writers can relate to.

Ok, ok, so this brings back Black Beauty, Beautiful Joe, Little Women, Little Men....Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe...all with the thought that someday, when I was old enough to make sense, I would like to change a little girl's life...who knows...certainly, You Have...

Marge:  A wonderful poem and I loved it! I was an avid reader from the time I learned how and always had a book hidden somewhere to escape to.  Beautiful picture and what an imaginative title.

This is so absolutely gorgeous, Marge...it reminds me a bit of a poem, I have been trying to write about all of my Dad's old books and how I used to write and draw pictures in them as a child.

Marge this was really touching and reminds me of my daughter. From a very young child she loved to read and every book she could get her hands on took her to a wonderful place. We would spend hours talking about some of her favorites. Thank you for taking me to a wonderful place. Hugs, Marti

Margie girl darling sister of my heart and collector of my hearts dreams this is quite probably one of the truest and best poem I've ever read and I mean it.. You are inarguably the best writer of hearts thoughts than anyone I know. You darling heart write PURE MAGIC and that's no lie. YOU are utterly utterly utterly superb. And I know this, I read your writing and knew that you were a great writer.

Knowing your spirit as I do, I KNOW, you can and do shine like the sparkle from a precious jewel. Others write well amazingly well, you shine out as a star. Biased I may be but anyone reading this jewel will agree with me

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
