Soft the Bell of Vespertine |

When darkness fell there rang a bell, As nature knelt in silent praise, Of day's demise in western skies, To passing of sun's piercing rays. Came Luna's glow on earth below, Encaptured all in moon's enthrall, Upon the land as tender hand, Of eventide did softly fall. Rang soft the bell as night befell, Bestowing both on man and beast, Peace undefiled, by stars beguiled, From heaven's font all sins released. Rang heralder of night divine, Rang soft the bell of vespertine. [This message has been edited by Tim (05-21-2002 07:03 PM).] |

your rhyme is excellent, your scheme well executed, but that's just my humble opinion, just reads so well. |

I just loved this to pieces. It made me feel all warm and snuggly. Like I was rocking in a hammock on a night drenched with moonlight. Wonderful, just wonderful. Hugs, Marti " My wrinkles are badges of courage and reveal that I am a Mother." |

generally not much on rhyming poems, but this one grabbed and held. the tone fits well with what seemed to me a smooth flow. |

Tim, this is stunning! It took my breath away, the internal rhyme and the flow - magnificent Keth Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
