This is my entry for a weekly competition at a place called Writer's Prompt, at www.writersprompt.com I joined for a 30 day trial period, which allows me to enter weekly competitions and also to judge other entries.....$25 is the prize. there were two other entries this week with mine and mine is rated in second place so far.....the competition ends at 7 am May 24th. hands across the sea hands across the sea of time and space spanning decades closing the distance to touch past and present joining two linear points hands across the sea of imagination bridging thought to reality image to tangibility to touch a spark to life and give rise to visions hands across the sea of aversion binding against carnage of the mind to touch with healing and mend all wounds hands across the sea of indecision transcending doubt instilling hope to touch a people and change a destiny hands across the sea of tranquillity where peace abides and sings hearts to touch every soul with sweet compassion 5-22-02 Enotneicna SLR Words are my medicine. |

Ooo, yum! Y'know, "hands across the sea" reminds me of "hands across the water (water)" from tha' Paul McCartney song ... what's it called? Uncle Albert/Admiral Hansley or somethin'.... Anyway -- I really, really enjoyed this. (thumbs s' up) She said burn ... together. |

I finished in second place. My ratings were as follows: the prompt was "hands across the sea" 6.8 originality 6.6 appropriateness to prompt 6 interest 6.8 economy of form 6.6 voice and point of view 6.8 imagery and expressiveness 7.2 balance of unity and contrast 6.6 structure organization and flow 6.2 use of language, dialoge and poetic device 6.75 mechanics 66.6 total Sea.......thank you!
