You are my weakness,
almost as needed
as a glass of lemonade
on a dry tongued day.

When I lack you,
the absence catches me
deficient in smiles,
my moments fading to gray
shadows taking over,
till night makes its way.

You are my want,
filling the void of me,
supplying the energy
that stresses I exist.
When I skimp on you,
I feel so meager
and that is why...

M

Well I hope I am around to know why.................."supplying the energy
that stresses I exist." Because you sure do with these short verses but oh so well thought out pictures of emotion. So don't skimp because your addiction is inspired!!
Great write Maureen!

Sure would!  In many many ways, as many as I could interpret it! To be loved that much is to be fulfilled!!
But Lord as poetry goes you might be talking about your regular cup of tea and that's what makes poetic language so wonderful!

Maureen this is exquisite writing the words flowing over the page with such ease. The feelings evoked is perfect. Really lovely writing from you

Beautiful form and flow on this one
