on this page
I find that my heart
is all too often revealed to all of you
it's right here in these words
in the form of this verse
as it falls down the page
under your ever watchful eyes

these words and my heart
penned in letters of bluest blue
                         and reddest red
they are here, side by side
for you to see that my life
isn't so different from your own

that my heart isn't that different from your own
it bleeds, like yours does
          it loves, like yours does
and most of all
          it writes, like yours does

it writes of other hearts once known
and of hearts yet to be known
it writes of things that I can say
and of things that I cannot say

it speaks, although, with a voice
that can't be heard by normal ears
only the poet's hearing
the hearing of other like hearts
and minds can pick up all the nuance
                               the subtlety
                                    the pain
of a fellow heart
that has known love too
like it has

that is why I must try to
shield my heart from you
perhaps, if I use a different style of word
another way to write my thoughts
so that I could tell you
what's on my mind wihout
any wondering or speculation
as to the desires and feelings of my heart

a heart, that I would
probably still show much of
to you all

in these words

Sven...

Any one of us could have written this same
poem,  maybe slightly different from your
own words...but certainly with the same
thoughts in mind...and in heart...

I hear the poet's heart...your heart...
through these common words expressed.

You can't hide your heart when you write poetry. This is very well done.

John, this is just another piece of your work in how well you bond with others, and how you still are much like we all are here. We are all alike in so many ways. You paint a beautiful and very vivid picture of your genuine heart as always.

There is a beautiful web of hearts here Sven and they expose so many of life's complicated but loving situations. It is a pleasure to read them and gain insight into the gifts of our fellow poets.
As far as your heart goes it's one of the purest and I've thought that since I joined here a couple of years ago.
That's the best reply I can think of,  heart to heart....in these words!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sven, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, I must confess that naturally I am a shy person by nature but you and everyone here is like a second family of many brothers and sisters to me and I feel I have the courage to say so much here always! (smiles) God Bless You, sweet friend, you are a true delight on all these pages, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sven, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sometimes, we can play with words and reveal little... other times, our heart pours out whether we want it to or not. *S* Other times, we find a balance... and find treats we didn't know our mind had hiding. *S*

I like this, Sven... and understand... and wait to see what treasures are unearthed by your search. *S*

thank you all my friends. . .

indeed, there is much within my own heart. . . both good and bad. . . hopefully, I've been able to show you more of the good. . .

but, there are times when my heart is heavy. . . and the weight can only be removed through the words. . . words that I don't always understand, but that are there, and that come forth. . . and that is the time that I am thankful that I have somewhere to put them all. . . and that understanding comes from hearing them. . .

thank you all. . . your words help me. . . and I'm glad to know that mine help you (to some small degree) as well. . .
