What Could Go Wrong? After the wedding, her mother cried because steps taking her from west coast to mid-west cornfields were miles mother and daughter had never traversed before they felt the ache in their arms, but what could go wrong? Trip eastbound, lovely bride takes ill then worsens, any physician to be trusted was on either side of them, being in the middle of nowhere she felt the wringing in her body, but what could go wrong? Radio blares gloom, groom heard his one job he could return to after stint served in Air Force wouldn’t happen because of unions striking he felt negligent, depressed, but what could go wrong? A first loving room directly squared over his parents’ staid room, supplied with squeaky bedsprings and noisier sheets modestly didn’t touch each other, but what could go wrong? Their first apartment swayed over a bar, landlord serving quiet patrons only but he had forgotten the jukebox wasn’t who needed sleep, but what could go wrong? She lost her first job after celebrating a first job because what had caused her sickness on the honeymoon was mononucleosis She couldn’t pay the doctor, but what could go wrong? He found a job, she found a job, the apartment radiator’s heat found Sunday escape through a slightly broken window when temps bottomed at 20 degrees they layered in clothes for warmth, but what could go wrong? A babe came into their lives to schedule their hours opposite so no sitter required for absolute and total care they missed each other, but What could go wrong? After a few short years, he gave into a weak moment, then gave into honesty when she would have believed he would never have done what he did… They saw the vows break, but what could go wrong? Deca There are so many things that can go wrong, aren't there?...sometimes they break a union, sometimes make it stronger. A very poignant look at a relationship..much enjoyed! |

Might this be a write of one's own memories when....what could go wrong.....so aptly did.... The trials of marriage, hope, dreams and stark reality... Good old Murphy comes and strikes again... Such a talent to pen these experiences so well.... |

What a lovely sadness you've written here... so many rose-colored glasses turn gray with reality. Well done! |

Thank you all for reading; several of you were on target; sadly, even though one might wish that nothing more could go wrong, even naive innocence has a breaking point... |

Well D'flame this is write about the realities of life! Seems like it's a struggle sometimes yet, there are those times when it's the most marvelous gift to appreciate. The upside keeps us all going. Good writing! |
