Do I think I could gain perfection in anything? Only a fool would say that, for perfection leads to more challenges to miscue from. I can only look for it in my dreams, to only loose it in reality. From somewhere beyond me lies perfection But the frailties of existing keep it at an arm length In finger tips of hope scratching for a taste The elusive quest is just a dream away With every wrong move I make For in everything I have done wrong I have turned to see light Sometimes bending under the strain That drives me so To reach that hidden goal The scratches that age my body Live in the mistakes I have made Leaving me vulnerable to be human Crying for more perfection To dent this body with such pain That my dreams cry for more How do I climb a hill That has no end And the beginning has no start Sliding into an inferno My bodies friction drives me forward Into the possibilities Yes perfection I crave it But what is it Can anyone tell me a human who has it For the flaws in life will always grow Especially in the mind of other perfectionists So I write in my perfection Only to find gaping holes of humanity Willing to devour it and chew it to pieces But yet enough survives to promise me hope That someday something I will say Will have only one doubter A critic upon himself Who you see is not very perfect at all Just a dreamer in war torn world of hope Email me at davelyoung1@hotmail.com D.Lester Young (05/21/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) http://www.authorsden.com/visit/author.asp?AuthorID=5012 [This message has been edited by D.Lester Young (05-21-2002 10:25 AM).] |

I believe this will be understood, and welcomed, by many... |
