My camelias are an absolute picture
Their petals strewn all over the ground
Out here in my back garden
A multitude of color can be found

The roses only flower infrequently
As Winter is drawing near
But the birds still sing in harmony
I never tire of the songs I hear

My bouganvillias are still in flower
On my back fences I have two
One is magenta and one is crimson
How much they compliment this view

My garden is a rainbow of color
With so many fragrances sure to please
Jasmine would be one of my favourites
Although it always makes me sneeze

I have many keepers of my garden
Statues of stone amongst the blooms
The aroma of citrus here is plentiful
All around me this fragrance looms

I never tire of the scene before me
Of this beautiful paradise so fine
Countless hours I've spent in this garden
And I'm proud to say that it's all mine

* * * * *

For those of you who may not know, it is nearly
Winter here in Australia which I know must be
strange for you to try and imagine as you
are moving towards Summer. As I write this
I have the heater on and it is cold and
very miserable outside.

I shall find a flower
and send it to you soon
I shall pick a rainbow
to drape upon yon moon
and then I will do my best
to give you another reason
to be glad of winter
and get you through the season

Sue:  I guess we all need a little winter in our life every year to make us appreciate the summers even more.  Your garden is wonderful I know from the pictures you've shared and it will be again!
