Hospitals

Nurses...efficient at tending patients
wake you up to take
your sleep medication

hospital gowns...the latest of fashion
adorned with pretty
flowers of passion

underneath those stiffly laundered sheets
lies a person
who feels like a piece of meat

the doctor who's a standup comic
prescribes pain pills
which make you vomit

you're not allergic unless there's a rash
so to the bathroom
you'll have to dash

though you're supposed to stay in bed
that bathroom trip
you'll make instead

the hospital...let there be no doubt
while you're still sick
they'll kick you out

...and that's the ups and downs
of a hospital's gown...

Thanks Karilea...
I had an ultrasound at one hospital and the hospital gown barely covered my tush...
and I'm only 5'1"......Can you imagine a big tall man wearing one of those?

(giggles in delight) Oh Lyra, hospitals always creep me out in strange ways too, it can indeed be very errie and foreign to me and when all I want is a  restroom so I can be in silence for a moment, it's always confusing where to find it! (big hugggsssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I always love the way you express common themes, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thanks Nancy...
tall man + short gown = embarassment

I noticed that at U of M, where I now go for treatments etc....that all of the gowns are tremendous.  The ones I wore for radiation treatment, I had to wrap twice around myself.
But thats better than the skimpy ones here in Kalamazoo...and, tall men can wear them.

Sheeesh,  wearing one of those gowns....
might be a little bit of southern
hemisphere exposure....on all continents
for a tall guy....being almost 6-2 myself..
hmmmmmmm???

Love how you said this, Lyra...

Barry...You can't go to the hospital in Kalamzoo....you are much too tall!

Sorry, yoou'll have to go to U of M where they only have gowns for bigger folks and us little people have to wrap them around ourselves twice.

LOL, yes, I sure can imagine a tall man wearing that gown. Any passionate poets willing to model this hospital garb for the rest of us?
I am in a naughty mood, with only my imagination to comfort me.

Lyra,
I'd haunt a hospital just to get a chance to see Barry in one of those gowns. Very funny write.

just to model one of those gowns for us!
