she wept so much on her heart yet her tongue, numb unable to voice the agony the fear that her words would never come again that they would dry up as a river bed whose mouth has spent every drop leaking it all onto desert sands or island lands as if each morsel was carried away seeping into unknown depths or evaporating into clouds of other visions distant vistas to rain down upon a newly gifted soul fickle in their love for their former mistress leaving like so many before seeking, someone new to bless, to love, into messages yet unspoken yes, she wept as they floated away on butterfly and robin wings her tears rained down trickling between her toes kissing the soil below with tender moisture tickling with secret promises She wept. ©May 16, 2002 Virginia Salter Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Very well written! I truly enjoyed this piece, I like the repetion of 'she wept'. It makes the piece almost rhythmic. Kudos. Life-- "Although most elements are taken from reality, some have been exagerated for dramatic clarity." |
