Don't ask...

Spinning
©2002 C.G. Ward

a place like summer,
where snapshots of certitude
follow revelations
like the dawning of a new era
a place where it's habit
not to trust the taste
of victory, as it rounds
the edge from a fatal fall.

a place where...

   wait -

if I were to tell you
that your smile
knocked my knees left
into a spinning descent
of wondering how the hell
you manage to steal me
every time
you walk through the door,

would you slip through it
again?

I would rather have one breath of his hair,
one kiss of his mouth,
one touch of his hand
than an eternity without it.
