Coffee House Love Affair The boys twanged and plucked their guitars, And Kay sang sweet harmonies without words. The tiny room was cramped, dark and hot, With no window to show the sky and a lamp casting it’s red orbs on the wall. It was intimate ambiance, with sultry heat to purge worries from my mind. I lounged with golden curls pouring over my shoulders, And watched his hands slide across the strings. When he caught my eye, and I caught his, We grooved together for heartbeats at a time. We stole secret glances from across the room, But they were candid and flooded me with heat. The music grooved and hypnotized and the room was silent But for the repetition of guitars. I watched his hands slide across the strings and his eyes across mine, And the heat caressed us both; Those secret glances, Mine and his alone. "Why should I live? Why should I do anything? Is there in life any purpose which the inevitable death that awaits me does not undo and destroy?" -Tols [This message has been edited by Secret Whisper (05-16-2002 06:45 PM).] |

I like how you wrote this poem....Your use of images is superb and the mood was very easy to feel. I felt like I was sitting there...the haze of smoke above my head, noisy laughter behind me.... A very good write.... |
