This one came from reading an article on how, in a rush to preserve history, available recordings of poetry readings from the '50s and '60s have recently been transferred to digital technology, because the original reels are in such disrepair and poorly archived. Many reels had to be baked in ovens to get them to play long enough to be transferred to the new format. Others have lost whole phrases and sections of words because some parts have decayed so badly. Here's my take. Roll it...-Magnetic tape decay- His words are celebrated bones. Poetry of the looped brown plastic. The reels are baked to be played. His words are going frayed. Sweater songs to moth cocoons. His cadence has gone carrot crisp. God is chewing through his voice. Where his meter stresses out. His heap of bones rattle through, made anew by their lost fragments. The words he wrote, now missing, wrong. Revising death, he speaks a new song. She said burn ... together. |

"God is chewing through his voice".. some choice phrasing here b... enjoyed the way you savored the "lostness" of poetry...making up new words today (heatstroke I think they call it) M |

This is distressing, and will there ever be a medium of note that we will never lose the art of another? I think not, so treasure all that is here before you now...and glory in the sight... |

I liked the idea of this. . . and, to answer Lady. . . the only way that these could ever be preserved is for us to pass them from vessel to vessel. . . with the vessels being our minds. . . great work. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Thanx for bringing this to light.....Guess that is one reason I back up my poetry onto a CD....Now....if I could only remember where I put the thing??? Just kidding... And I agree with LIW and Sven on their thoughts....we should treasure what we have...for one day, we may not.. |

Poetry of the looped brown plastic. The reels are baked to be played. His words are going frayed. How sad, but how very creative... Great job, Mr.Squirrel ~taped hugs Lyra |

Lyra, taped hugs b##k. Martie, glad you enjoyed. I'm just glad they're doing something about it before it's too late ... this is close to too late, but not quite. She said burn ... together. |

Mike darling boy, hi love oh my this is sooooooo clever you are as I’ve mentioned a couple of times a very very good writer. Rarely if ever do I get to read anything that is so totally complete, the way you’ve written this is awesome. The thoughts and the concept are outstandingly good. Do I love it of course I do, this is superb. I must admit I think I’m too much a product of the disposable age I back my files up onto disc, and then tend to lose the disc. Oh well, the important stuff I keep. And this I’m putting into my library, you don’t mind me squirreling you away do you? I didn’t think you would but it’s always wise to check Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 |

Mushy, y' can do anythin' you want with it. Glad you enjoyed. Nancy, thanks for reading and enjoying. This is one of those rare ones that it takes me two days to write. I'm glad the effort was worth it for y'. She said burn ... together. |
