February 1996 Gold in the skies lingered there in your eyes on that February eve so many years ago as brilliant found its way to ground as if to wrap around us just so You were made strong with young intent quivering dreams seemed to suit your mind a nervous mother, me, I just let you drive while you owned the road, your way to find The last leg of the last journey of two we’d come far in our knowing of hearts gold in the skies lingered there in your eyes, I keep this, our separation’s start. ~*~ Dedicated to my Daughter Photography by K. A beautiful photo and a perfectly written poem, Karilea... I have a couple of very interesting "teaching my kids to drive" stories, but I think I'll follow your example and write them into a poem. ~loving hugs Lyra |

Now I have no idea why that poem made me so sad, but it did. Sometimes my brain and emotions each have their own highway. That was a lovely picture, perhaps it is meant to be shared. Let's spend less time worrying about when our life is going to end, and more on when it's going to start! |

Pulling ever gently on the apron string... whispering it is time to go... Smiling as a hidden tear wells up... Such memories... Beautiful poem and pic KJ...love them both. |
