Haven't we been down this road before? Doesn't this open a familiar door? Suppression, oppression, regression, obsession. "We hold these truths to be self-evident" Do you remember the rest? Do you remember those who gave their very best to see that you, that WE, the people, have control over our destiny? How long has it been since you read that rusty old document, The Declaration Of Independence? There was a list of charges that were brought, against the King Of England. "He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance." I didn't write that line. The founders of our country did. But my personal family tree includes one Matthew Thornton, New Hampshire representative, who signed this famous document on July 4, 1776. "Don't tread on me!" Thank you, Christopher Gadsden. This motto, familiar to all Marines, a blazing yellow banner, with coiled snake ready to strike anyone who attempts to take away our freedoms. Does that ring your Liberty Bell? Does that make your chest swell? "We hold these truths to be self-evident." Who is holding onto these truths today? "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated." Do not sit on your hands quietly. Do not give up your freedoms, for freedom's sake. Remember what we stand for, and stand tall. Do not give up your freedoms, for any reason, for anyone, at anytime. Haven't enough people died to secure and guarantee these freedoms? I dedicate this to my ancestor, Matthew Thornton, who believed with all his heart, his soul, and his life, that freedom is worth fighting for. |

Hippie chick yes, old, no. We are not old, we are just older than the young ones who think they invented the world according to Warp speed. LOL, maybe I am getting old?? Some of the clothing styles I grew up with have already come back around and then shoved into the corner as "passe"... once again. Proof that we are all part of a really big circle??????? |

![]() ![]() ![]() (sigh) Yes, freedom should always be worth fighting for, for the constitution says so and that is what has shaped this country and what makes the bell ring and the eagle scream! (big hugggssssss) This is powerful, sweet friend, always follow the examples of Matthew and you will find all the freedom your heart desires, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Like your thoughts....brings some thoughts to my mind...although we have freedom does that give a citizen the right to drive across this country placing pipe bombs in mailboxes and in the process killing or endangering other citizens and taking away their freedom? Does that give a citizen the right to drive a truck load of explosives under the federal building in Oklahoma and take away the freedom of so many... Should a person that is not a citizen be allowed to come into this country and plot the hijacking of our airlines and kill American citizens at will? Not everyone has the best intentions in their heart...and we need an agency that can step in and stop those that are abusing these freedoms...before the fact...not after we are dead...James |

And let that circle remain unbroken forever, Kacy... I didn't mean that we were old in years, I just meant that most hippie chicks of today....who aren't the REAL ones that we are, are much younger....they are just imitating us because we are so GOOD! I think a lot of the kids today, think it must have been really cool to live through the sixties and seventies... Oh yes and those styles...I have seen some of them come and go several times already...but I am probably older than you are...either that or I'm more observant of fashion b/c I grew up in NYC. ![]() Lyra |

Noah, thanks for always reading and commenting. BTW, I just might call you on the 4th of July, or email you from Jaime's? Eric, smiling here, as I love being thrown into the group called 'young hippie chicks' It takes me back to the '60's. ![]() James, freedom isn't free, but I don't wish to give up ANY freedoms for the sake of an ill-defined "freedom from terror." Thanks for your reply. Lyra Hippie Chick, yes, NYC fashion definitely surpassed what I had in California, where I always thought cut off jeans (any old label) and a tank top was fine 10 months out of the year. |
