Listening to every heart

Wildflowers on the Wind

Orchids and roses, fragrant and rare
are not this lady, so do not compare
admire the view, breathe in one or two
be as much at home under skies of blue

where winds blow, meadowlarks sing
wildflowers grow ‘round her in rings

tensile strength, hidden from view
emotional ties one by two
a slave to sounds, music or word
drawn to dreams, she’s reassured

where winds blow, meadowlarks sing
wildflowers grow ‘round her in rings

she’ll pick wildflowers, cornflowers blue
smell the lupine, soft purpling hues
her garden grows gentian all along
content by her springs, with cardinal’s song

where winds blow, meadowlarks sing
wildflowers grow ‘round her in rings

she’s not of lace, more broadcloth blue
she doesn’t wear silk, cotton will do
her smile genuine, she’ll not laugh at you
but more at herself is what she will do

where winds blow, meadowlarks sing
wildflowers grow ‘round her in rings

don’t be amazed at her mercurial eyes
don’t ask if her love is her best surprise
it’s in her to center down in your heart
in simple naiveté her true love starts

where winds blow, meadowlarks sing
wildflowers grow ‘round her in rings

Like the blending that made the meadow lark sing with words so special.

Kari...I think this is a poem which says a
lot about the poet...the person...and who
they really are....

You have said it beautifully...

of a lady,  with class....but no frills...

thank you  for sharing this beautiful
piece of your soul...

Ah hah...the shutterbug's gotca!  This was lovely and I tell you if you hadn't of put a picture there I was  going to , this was beautiful.  This also puts me in mind of another painting by Waterhouse that is a favorite of mine.  I won't clutter this thread up with it, but here is the link Sunshine, have a look... http://www.primenet.com/~byoder/jwwind.jpg

I wish there were a smiley face animation that grows petals all around it like a flower, then perhaps a bee could come by and land on its "nose" or something....

But since that's not to be, let me just say, really enjoyed!
