Excerpt from The Pasture Pond Summer erupts the pond into cattails brown tops and frogs and squirrels chittering along the bank, and turtles and bugs, water bugs dancing, skimming the pond’s surface and down the frog’s throat. Now skim small rocks, flat rocks, make them dance and plop. Plop. Plop. A bit of moss clings to the edge of the water and you walk softly there, to not scare ....croack.... splash, splish, frogs hear you anyway, and dive, dive safely. With my first attempt at downloading my own artwork. Heartfelt thanks to NANCY NESS for her assistance! |

Enjoyed the verse and its message. The joining with the picture just added to the bouquet. [This message has been edited by D.Lester Young (05-12-2002 09:35 AM).] |

Ponds....We called them Cattle Tanks in TX while I was growing up...Not nearly as beautiful as your description of the pond. But they had the same mystery and magnetism as any other pond would.... And yes, those sneaky frogs that were always too quick... Makes me want to have some froglegs again... Ummmmmmm goood!!!! Love this poem KJ...very nice |

WOW!!! Is that really your artwork? That is wonderful, sweet friend, as all your gorgeous words are, you always make me smile with the lovely words you write! (kiss on cheek) I too know these kind of ponds so well, for whenever I visit my grandparents every summer, I always see them among lush meadows of lilies and daffodils, they are so pretty! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is lovely! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
