The Borrowing of a Muse

How easily they slip from us
Unguarded moments escape
But that can be said of more
Than a tear...

~*~

See the child linger in
Thought alone

Was her wedding dress
So white?

Was his smile ever
So broad?

Did they sleep well
In their night?

When was I
Last the child?

When did a touch
Last leave a quake?

When were words
Of love

Said simply for
Their own sake?

When did you last
Seek smiles

Upon the plain of a
Stranger’s face?

Or sip tea with
Friends,

Or give back to Him
With grace?

~*~

How easily they slip from us
Unguarded moments escape
But that can be said of more
Than a tear...

{words on loan from Sunshine's muse}

Elan

This had such a fragile might
like walking barefoot in the night

I wonder if Sun would let me borrow her muse?

Martie...

The four lines are the words to use
the rest shall meld with thine own muse
seek thee shelter beneath her wing
that we might hear thine own voice sing

Sun...shares very well

Oh boy...that worked, almost like a tune-up, when did words last leave a quake?  Good question for my muse to ponder, but so far, she is having a hard time even remembering back that far   Good one, and this should inspire many, if it inspired me!

We should spend less time on worrying when our life is going to end and more on when it's going to start!

Now, this is true poetry! Perhaps I need to borrow your muse?!, this is just so softly inspiring.
