Magnolia tree melody
Orange blossom winds
Mellow winds on guitar strings
Throaty trumpet kick ass blues
Reeds vibrating the brass alive
Thunder rolling the swing into you
The moody language of the Quarter
Is alive well and moving you

Paintings capture artists gold
In history of streets of balconies
Gardens of love overhang
In heavenly view
The brush captures Father time
In color so real the music joins
In the jazz that will fulfill time

Street people with rainbow hair
Children kicking up their heels
Statues so still they move away
To get a beer to beat a sweat
Strippers strut with their best stuff
For Bible belt angels
Everyone smiles from their pain
In the music of living New Orleans

Artist of all kinds express talent
In others disbelieves
For the music of soul has gotten blue
So let the bands parade the streets
To revive the ghosts of captured souls
And Mardi Gras will live till
Until all music dies
And no ghosts can carry it on

I don't believe the ghosts
will ever be able to leave,
truly, I don't...it's a remarkable town...

It's true...when I am not haunting the Quarter? The Quarter is haunting ME...pssst...I just went shopping at the French Market last week. It was good to be HOME. You captured her beautifully!
