trickling off the page

the canyon wall backdrops
into the river below
singing invitation to dance
her curves silhouette
against the sun she arches he uses
no flash, her outline holds
his only interest
nothing to hide in front of or
behind, belly taunt
breath held
for the perfect

in his eyes she watches
the picture unfold depredation
rippling down
to where no one
hears the night offer clemency
to her yes
oh
yes

and she has to wonder when
his charm lost its
ability, at the moment it is
almost absent

she smiles widely and slowly
and deliberately says
I might still every now and then
tend to think it so
after gazing into the figment of your
imagination
but at present I feel the need
to inform you that your illusion
is trickling
off
the
page
.

thanks bal, it came from an invitation to 'dance' and so it was a hypothetical poem, but in the birth of the poem, it ended without the last 2 verses....I like it better where I end up smiling.......and yep, I know you know, and am glad you like
