Too Old

Please darling let’s not speak of this
No discussions on time’s speeding kiss
Your age you can’t really change
My age I cannot rearrange
How old is too old anyway
Let’s just be grateful for each day
Don’t let’s talk of this again
All it does is cause you pain

Please darling don’t talk to me
Of what I’m supposed to see
You can’t expect me to care
About others opinion here or there
This relationship is far too fine
To be strained by the hands of time
What does age mean anyway?
It’s just immaterial what folk say

Please darling let’s have no more
I find this speech such a bore
We can’t change the way things are
Time’s distance isn’t near of far
You’re not too old I’m not too young
Our time has only just begun
You love me and that I know
As I love you despite time’s flow

Marsha

Marsha,
This is a change of pace for you. Put some helium in your bubbles and you'll both be flying. Loved the poem.

Age is a label put on boxes to keep people in.Age can be an insidious form of bigotry.

I love this! Now go get those bubbles *sigh* mentioned, and celebrate love over time.

The feelings of one about another...and
the feelings of another about another..

Desire is not based upon the depth of one's
skin,  but the size of one's heart.  Easier
said than felt for some....

You have said your feelings perfectly
dear Mushy....That is all that you can do.

sweet sis,

you have penned your words perfectly
in this...and your words are SO TRUE.
Age really is just a number, and all of
us regardless if we're "young" or "old"
should just enjoy and make the most of
the time God gives us. This was a wonderfully brilliant write and from
your heart as always! excellent...i loved
it!
take care.
love you.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Marsha, this is soooooo wonderfully heartfelt, sweet friend, I believe we are all always young at heart and forever young, for the spirit of the child will always be with us just as the old soul of wisdom will cradle us always in our youth! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light alays shine upon you!

Hello Marsha

This was wonderful and how very true were your words.  So many search for the fountain of youth, not willing to grow old gracefully.  There are far too many vain people in this world for my liking who solely look for external beauty.  I like to look further into a person's soul to where the real treasure is.

Take care......Sue
