standing on a shadow's lace

Immovable

sometimes I sit
on the edge
of my chair
too use to it
I find I do this
unconscientiously unaware
games of musical chairs
placed in
a goldilocks fit
adjusting positions
just to find a comfortable
place to sit
try so hard
to sit straight up
in my seat
then the ground
just moves away
and won’t reach my feet
my stomach stands
in my throat
with a giant knot
and my heart perches
on my shoulder
singing memories I forgot
I yearn to grab the world
and touch it
in many ways
but the wheels
of my chair are locked
into an Emily Dickinson phase

Helen,
Are you sure that wasn't a Goldilock's OUT-fit? Okay...I really liked the structure of this and the concept. Well done.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

Poet is too shallow a word to
convey the compliment you lend it
with your talent.

Read with pleasure by our eyes and
enjoyed with our souls

I read this one several times too.

You write the words of snapshots to the soul.

Very simple wording, but sharp shooting accuracy!

Applause, Lady Slick.

*sigh*
I love the way you write, Lady.
I love the way you think too.

How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so.
