Cape Cod will never be the same
The Poets have been here
All came to Hoot's'n'Nani's games
Including Balladeer...

Mysteria's Hysterias
And Liz Kaboodled Kit
Now Sy was never serious
Sweet Isabel saw fit...

Well Kit and I planned secretly
We surely had some fun
Just click upon the link to see
Our seaside Treasure Hunt

(kiss on cheek) I am delighted you and the gang had a fabulous time up there, sweet friend, YAY, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Nan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Oh Nan, you did a great job on this, and both you and Kit also did a fantastic job of preparing that treasure hunt.  AHEM, you forgot to mention who was on the teams, as this is important to describe the scramble at the end, which I will leave to the Balladeer to describe of course.

Team One: Michael, Kit, Sharon, Isabel

Team Two: Nan, Ruth, Sy, Elizabeth

Judge: Karen (Nan's friend)

And...The last clue was hidden inside of a balloon filled with water, which we had to play catch with.  I am still laughing as I warned Isabel to stand back quick if it broke

Now Michael - you tell them how the best team won, and who they were.

Imagination is more important that knowledge

LOL, is it really legal for so many grownups to have that much fun?  Where was your  chaperone? Nan and gang, thank you so much, for including some spectators in the family fun revelry. (Or was that rivalry?)

Hoot Owl really boosted our team into victory. I say victory because we were at a disadvantage and still tied to the treasure chest. They got a runnung start while we tried to figure out which way was south, and it being overcast, that was impossible. The obvious was the flag pole with a clue attached to the flag, but Liz cleverly diverted her team to two little flags in a planter and that took almost a minute out of our time. Also, we sang Yellow Brick Raod much better than they did arm in arm and even skipping across the patio, while the other team sang less than a full line, except for Mysteria who could have performed the entire show. Anyway after the balloon burst, Balladeer was postioned ahead of Hoot up the hill toward the treasure box, but she ran faster and actually touched it at the same time, so it was in appearance a tie, though without small diversions I'm sure we would have won
. IN the end we were all winners thanks to Kit and Nan and there clever verses. Inside the treasure chest there was a box of goodies for each participant. THank you girls. It was great fun!

damn

great photos, really

but if i had to follow the game, i'd get lost in hyannisport and with my luck, end up in provincetown in a gay bar without even figuring out where i was for several hours, which btw, happened once, just my luck... took me a coupla hours to realize that the reason why all those men were staring at me and smiling was because i was the only female in the joint....... and i thought they all wanted me....... reminds me very little of the internet, too... LOL

*sigh*

anyway, sorry i missed  the whole darn thing but it sound like you had a blast without me and if there was a lot of game playing going on, i certainly hope it was scrabble and that you won, nan, because you musta won because i wasn't there to beat you..... and all that's great because that's the only game i wanna play

except of course

the lottery

which tonight i am betting on

and if i lose...

well, back to scrabble!!! huh?

can't beat that!!!

(one day you will explain that link to me but until then, i'll just have to figure that the game is poetry and that's why i can't understand it because it's too long, but i LOVED IT!! it was a GREAT game!!!

(hehe... just paraphrasing my audience)

hope you're well
again, my sincere sympathies and please email me ok? i don't go on icq any more unless you wanna tell me when

and no, i don't have msn and won't get it...

but aol IM i still have

would love to talk to you

Nan, you did a beautiful job pulling everything together on the site. What a great presentation with the pics included. Love them!

The treasure hunt was so much fun,
You see the end results ...
But half the fun was thinking through
How we would steer "adults".

I've done a Treasure Hunt each year,
At Christmas for my "kids",
But this was much more difficult,
We laid it out in grids.

I'd never tried a "double" hunt,
With two teams branching out ...
I had the biggest fear we'd have
Our clues all turned about!

Somehow we kept it organized,
And I can still hear Nan ...
Those giggles as we came up with
The stunts within the plan!

Everyone was wonderful ... and I still have to laugh when my mind's eye pictures Michael and Ruth racing to the final chest, ROFL.

Ummmm ... need I mention the toughest clue everyone needed help with? LOL

Best wishes and hugs Nan,
/Kit

This had to be the most fun, the preparation alone is a mind-boggler...it's one thing to plan a treasure hunt, and simply another to put it down poetically!  The two of you should take this game one step further, and if you are following the "drift" you would end up with an ever filled chest...

I mean, there you have it, the talent...I think you two should hire yourselves out...but wait for a sunny day before telling me which way to find north, yes?  LOL...Yes!

It's time to let the truth be known
I love to hear Liz whine
But whines cannot erase the fact
That victory was MINE!!

Kit, naturally, could be no help
Since she'd composed the clues.
She came along to make sure
That the rules were not abused.

Mysteria? My right-hand gal!
She sniffed clues out with ease
And Isabel determined to
Bring Sy's team to its knees.

The first clue was an easy one..
The Passions logo phrase.
We got that one with ease while
Sy's team stood there in a daze.

Then off we went, like swift gazelles.
The clues came easily.
Nan did her best to stump us but
She wasn't fooling me!

Like chickens with their heads cut off
Sy's team just ran amok
While begging for a hurricane
Or some stroke of bad luck.

At last we reached the final clue,
The final bit of rhyme.
Hoot Owl and I deciphered it
At the exact same time!

The treasure chest 10 feet away..
We sprinted and we ran!
It was a battle to see who
Would be the better man.

I'd had a cold and felt quite sick
But still kept up the pace
(and didn't have those floppy things
To hit me in the face!)

We got there the exact same time.
We both reached out our hands!
I knocked her back with my right hip
(I hope God understands )

The day was ours! Victorious!
The treasure hunt was done.
The nicest thing about it was
That EVERYBODY won!!!!!!

Nan and Kit, you've given us memories that shall never die...thank you, sweet ladies

The real treasure is the bonds you all formed in this special time together and the memories that will last well beyond the "goodies"
Yes...thank you Nan and the rest of the gang for sharing and making us (who could only be there in spirit) a part of this.

Sunshine I had to look that up I thought you said something bad there , and I am so glad the truth be known here, WE WON!  Well, actually we all won, and I will never, ever, ever forget Ruth chasing Michael up those stairs, and she did get there at "approximately" the same time, but she didn have those "floppy things" holding her back. Oh, but I love you guys, you're great!

A photo finish would confirm
The tie without a doubt
But you will never hear from me
A single word of pout

Handicapped by clouds above
In fact we truly won
But no one's even keeping track
It all was just for fun

For we are all adults, you know
And wouldn't put the blame
On terms such as "APPROXIMATE
To win a silly game

They say they won, I will not whine
For Hoot Owl let me in
To appease their immaturity
She slipped and let them win.

Good going Hoot!
That's the Passions' spirit!
That's because we love ya'll
