Sometimes you write for a spirit that enters your mind in the power of innocence. Ghostly shadows of deception Bloodied hands washed clean The fear of innocence Was destroyed by ignorance Unknown terror claimed a hero As the hero remembers his shame Back room filled tears cast shadows Creating mists of memories That enters other minds in mystery What happened behind closed doors In the dungeon of the mind Where innocence was betrayed As it departed in spirit In deep sleep the visions appear To repeat the name in a misspelled haze The survivor keep awaiting his fate From the words that will now not stop For the drums are now rolling In the mind of one Ready to reappear in the birth of print What names are there hidden In the memory of time The chilly hand is now reaching In the howl of remembrance As the winds pick up speed To enter your soul And sentence you In the nightmare of living In a boarded up room That does not forget The loss of one spirit Whose innocence is now seeking Its judgment day By letting words do the harm That won’t go away Email me at [email protected] D.Lester Young (05/02/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) http://www.authorsden.com/visit/author.asp?AuthorID=5012 [This message has been edited by D.Lester Young (05-02-2002 09:30 PM).] |

i liked this exploratory piece, but have to say i could have done with some punctuation... my mind kept waiting for literal pauses and stops and was confounded when tehy weren't forthcoming! Christopher |
