She’ll Be Fine

Hey there son! What’s the story here?
Sitting in the gutter, grinin’ ear to ear

Don’t sweat it friend, she’ll be fine
I won’t stay long in this fine shrine

Hey now don’t you know this ain’t the place be
Ya better move along before somebody sees

Hey there friend I see it’s time to go,  and soon enough I’ll be on my way
Down along the road I’ll go and find a place to stay

Hey! I think that I remember now, there maybe was an age
When I’d seen you prancing high, up upon your stage

Ya know my memory’s gone from too much wine
It really was so long ago, the visions now sublime

Ya know I can’t recall the fall from grace
That left half a man, laying here in disgrace

Can’t say I’m sure about the fall
All I really know is that I hit the wall

Well I’ll stay on the rails, avoid the strife
Gotta feed the kids, and then ya know there is the wife

Now I think may be the time to dance
You can truly make it, if you dare to take the chance

Well remember this, one day we’ll come to see
You can speak here for yourself but surely not for me

When it finally comes to pass we’ll all know the fear
And then we’ll all pay the price as we shed our tears

Hey, off you go with your words of covered true
There’s one thing I know for sure, I’ll never be like you

Well I’ll let ya know there’s worse my friend
And tell you that we’re all the same when we reach the end

Eddie darling boy as always you write with such skill and wonderment this is excellent writing from you. Exquisite flow and the rhyme are utterly utterly spectacular This poem contains some amazingly beautiful lines, the form is utterly utterly divine, and I love it I truly do.

Utterly utterly utterly perfect

Love and warm stuff

this is a song, you know.......it sings out to me, and belongs up there with the likes of master poets like Dylan and Neil Young. I read it about 5 times, and still kept hearing those guys sing it.......loved it, and ready for more more more!!

The music is playing...the dance begins

This is a great format! Highly effective construction, and the conversational style just hit this one out of the ball park. It reminded me a bit of shrugging at the absurdity of one's own life. Intriguing and very well done!

Eddie, sometimes the depth of your writing is beyond me but as always it intrigues me.

Eddie

I felt like you were two different parts of yourself...maybe one from the past, or one more hidden.  A very intriguing write!

Of course she will be just fine, in time....but I gotta say there are no finer words than the truth you wrote in this!!   Loved it, especially the part  about hitting the wall and how you bounced off it.
