A Better Point of View By Larry Chadwick It’s a standing invitation, One that’s always there. Useable at any time, And most anywhere. It’s the appeal of nature, For you to get away. Even if for a moment, Or for longer than a day. I have my favorite places, To which I like to go. Spots that call me back, Because they seem to know. That when I stop at that one spot, And take a moment for renew, It gives me added strength, To handle worries too. These places were designed that way, For us to come aside. That’s why there everywhere, So all may there abide. In times of peace, Or when your life is torn. Accept that standing invitation, It’ll make you feel reborn. When we can’t get to where we like, A substitute will very often do. There very seldom is excuse, For failure to renew. Just recall that place, That puts your mind at ease. But better yet head out the door, And you will find sweet peace. And when you take the time, For nature to draw near. With me you must agree, Everything looks fine from here. April 29, 2002 I’d love to illustrate this poem. It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |

It's good to stay focused and keep your point of view in perspective. I'm still working on it, and this was a nice reminder Larry~ |

Well Lori, If I were clever this would have a nature picture of a place I like to go. Because it does refresh me so. Anyway...thanks. It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |

I am printing out this poem and giving it to my boss day after tomarrow as my "doctor's excuse".... "Do they still have soup kitchens, for the unemployed?" Seriously, though, this is really great advice...and a terrific poem ta boot! ...Kat |

Yanno, THIS is one of those places for ME. You always make me smile, Lar. But this time, it was a quiet smile of knowing. Thank you again. |

Sometimes, just the feel of air or the smell of a particular moment of recall can take me to that spot... well done! |

Makes me want to take a hike in the woods or paddle a canoe down a river. Which is, I think, what you wanted. |

Larry, how very true. One of my favorite places is the tidal salt marshes just outside my door and every chance I get I'm out there on the water with my son, Chris. In fact, just got back from hauling in my crab traps. It's deviled crab tonight. Nice work! |

James, They both sound good to me. Got directions? Thanks. Micael, Fresh deviled crab! Seems you don't even have to leave home to be in that place. What a treat. Thanks. It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |
