No Cure For… By Larry Chadwick We spend so much time, Trying to cure so many things. We raise so much money, It makes the fund raisers sing. We want a cure for this, And we want a cure for that. There ain’t no cure for love, And I’m really glad about that. Because I love my mother, And I love my daughter too. Plus I really love my wife, These are things that we all do. So you must believe me when I say, I’m glad there ain’t no cure for love. But it really breaks my heart to say, There ain’t no cure for Breast Cancer. April 28, 2002 It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |

Larry, I agree, there is no cure for love, and even though it hurts, I'm glad. As for all of the horrible illnesses in the world along with poverty, racsm, hatred..I wish we could find a cure for those. Nice thoughtful writing here. Sandra |

(sad sigh) This is sooooooo beautifully bittersweet, sweet friend, I smiled knowing there is indeed no cure for love, but it broke my heart too thinking there is not yet one for breast cancer and I pray soon they can find a cure like that to save the many women who are fighting this condition and to save so many lives in families! (big hugggssssss) I join you in prayers for a cure to be found for that, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Hi Larry! Love your writing style and the goodness that you generate with your writing. I THINK THAT LOVE IS THE CURE AND THAT IS WHY IT IS INCURABLE! THE PANACEA FOR ALL SUFFERING! WHY DON'T WE ALL GENERATE MORE OF IT? Thanks for this poem! Shenachie (an amateur lover) |

Yet!!! Larry, You forgot to say There Ain't no cure yet. ( I really liked your Poem ) You have to be Positive about these things. It is in the very nature of the world to be negative.... 2nd law of thermodynamics states that energy will always move from useful to more useless states.... you have to give energy to the positive thoughts if ever they are to happen. A world conscienciousness that thinks negatively will only result negatively.... and thus the opposite is also true.... Breast Cancer (and all the rest of them ) WILL be Beaten. All be it we might continue praying sooner than later. I am glad you will never give up. Love, Light and Peace, Sherry Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. |

Larry, your last stanza doesn't rhyme....and that makes it perfect. There IS no rhyme or reason to not having found a cure for such a terrible disease....hopefully it will happen soon. Excellent work, Larry |

Dang Balladeer, I can't get anything by you. You just get up way too early for me! And you're right...cancer makes no sense. WE just need it to be cured and go away. We lose too many friends and loved ones. Thanks too. [This message has been edited by Larry C (04-29-2002 02:54 AM).] |

Larry, I know that I should have replied to this a long time ago when you sent me the link, but I have been much too tired until recently to go near my computer except for short bursts of time.... I want to tell you that this is a beautiful poem and conveys so well, the love that you feel for your family...and I especially loved the last line about the breast cancer...but I think it can be applied to almost any cancer...it is an absolutely miserable disease. ~many warm hugs Lyra |

Powerful. That ending came out of nowhere, and yet didn't. Great message. |

Lyra, Thank you so much and as you know, no apologies required! It is breast cancer that has struck closest home to me. My wife has had and then her sister died from it. So I know it too well. But you are absolutely right that any cancer is awful. My Father-in-law has had prostate cancer and my brother-in-law lost 1/3 of his tongue to cancer. Michael, Thank you. |
