I often wondered what it would be like to be the 'first' at doing something. How did the first users of Windows95 like it?

Well, I can tell you I see NO redeeming feature for WindowsXP.

I've had to switch to MSN Explorer since IE6 kept losing my connection settings...I can find NO assistance on the helpline for Windows. I've got a call into my technician to see if there is yet another patch I have to download. (I've done 5 patches for various things so far!)

Anyway..buyer beware.....

LOL...now THAT made me laugh!!! LOL

I don't think those people in the commercials are flying. I think they've died from frustration and they're going to Heaven to complain!! I hope Bill Gates hasn't bought the pearly gates and renamed them Microsoft Gates. sigh

man I use XP home, there's good and bad in it...

Like...some of my games aren't compatible (and they call that a compatibility Wizard?!?!?! HA!!!!!! That wouldn't make anythign compatible!), and some that DO work...crash a lot. Then some of my programs don't work...or crash...or parts of them don't work...

However, once I got lots of new stuff (cos, ya know, I have so much money to do that...NOT!) I'm mostly fine...

The thing that I do like is that it's based on NT.
Nt, of course, is mroe stable but slower. When Win 95/98 were around stability was the second-most concern, and they were much faster.
Howeve,r in XP you have more stability (it only crashes once a week instead of 5 times a day, and the blue screen f death now gives u a reason! Plus you aren't forced to scandisk EVERYTIME!).
And it IS much faster than a NT system. So, I do prefer it (now it's grown on me).
Only problem is that when it was installed (I was lazy and bought the computer whole hehe), it was installed with NTFS instead of Fat32 so my old Windows HD isnt compatible! *sigh*, so I still can't play my old games and stuff.

I'm just learning Linux, and waiting for that to be more compatible.
But I'm also considering Lindows when that gets less buggy, cos it uses WHINE, which means the best of Win and Linux...but it's only on version 2.0 now so mebbe when it hits 4.0 I'll consider it deeply...

(ignore the Linux-heads who insult it cos it's too easy, we don't all wanna write half a program just to run one simple task *g*m they do the same with Mandrake Linux cos it's too much like Windows.  Yet they still insult Windows users for being dumb and one-track-minded...the word begins with and H and end with an ypocritical ))
