She haunts me still
I feel the press
of flesh to bone

The cold metal
of curved scythe
against neck exposed

Submissive

To suffer a slow death
again and again

Regret

Regret, the sword of Damacles that hangs over most of us at one time or another. Well done.

I sing to life
To it's tragic beauty
To pain and strife
Let all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I lived through it all

ahh ack... you're good with expressing the real pain that circumstances or words cause.

You write so well of these sorrowful states.
Really grabs the reader in the solar plexus and does a slow, wrenching turn...

Warm hugs,

These last few years regret and I have become all too well acquainted....you've left me with that proverbial lump in throat.  You write pain...life beautifully.

Hi, Ralph, your poem was haunting. It reminded me of my own fears...we all have that feeling sometimes. It's nice to read your poetry again
