Beyond the place
of metaphor
symbols signed
in signature
of the dream
in Jungian
wondering
what I came for...
down the alley
to the street
where the light
blinded my eye
through the slop
of back door greet
gripping brick
of corridor--
I found my way head first.

See me tumble from the ledge
an edge of corners
in a curve...
Stumble-neat
in words' defeat--
again--again--
and never learned
where the cursive
leads the pen
and curlicues
of whispering
wishing for a finger's scratch
across the nose and into thatch
of a fevered skin's concede--
tell me this and swear me that
no chalice now to catch the bleed...

Here, there is enough of me.
Pull the rabbit from the hat.
(Yes, it's true, I'm late again.)
Alice, through the looking glass
drank the medicine of Arts
lusting for the look of Hearts--
it's good to be the Queen.

Watch me jump the horse of hedge
and edge the corners
over curve--
stumble in the repartee'--
and dive across the ditch of yearn.
Just a brush of ledges luck--
as ivy danced the brass spittoon
shadowed tarnish of the edge
that curls upon itself in beg
praying please, "Oh don't give up."
The oath that yes, "I'll be home soon."

Tell me that you love me too?
And even if it is not true,
then lie to me--
and swear purpose
dancing in the ruby shoes
tapping codes
"no place like home"
as if to think
we had thought twice
deciding which side was the hole...

I found the picture side of me--
there within the PDR,
a picture captioned with "Drink ME."
A picture of the star...

Karen...I've already read this one three times,
and I'll be back to read it again...when my mind
is functioning at full capacity..lol.
Meanwhile...just know that I loved and felt every word.
Love and hugs to you, friend.

"...until you have read the verse on his heart,
you have not truly met the poet.

The Jack of Hearts is holding hands
with Alice as she runs through lands
and holds in dream this part of me,
a bit of rhyme, and fantasy...

~*~

Goodness, I do believe you woke up PS...

but would you please step back
from my mirror?

Enjoyed this greatly...
and then some.

Hugs...K

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?

this is a wickedly delicious poem.  you are taken to some many amazing visuals that by themselves would hold their own in a poem but they are so well transitioned to in this piece.

So now where is my jefferson airplane?

Grin--I was gonna go into my Grace Slick routine, but then realized I swore I'd never imitate her again--after watching Jim Carey do the superb karoake routine in "Cable Guy" (he performed "Somebody To Love") I swore there was no way anyone could follow that--not even Ms. Slick herself--so, I guess I'll have to pass--this time.

(y'just got luck folks... )

Thanks for reading once again. Ya'll are all perfectly groovy...
