Blood and oil boil away the months,
sometimes leaving scars behind.
A ragged face.
Seclusion, too often self-delusion.

Can life be like a videogame with no save points?
Oops, you lose!
What, no memory card?
Oh well…

I’ve seen pure evil,
It really does exist in the world and once came to visit.
I’ve also seen my three guardian angels.
Yes, three, and they also exist.

I have a pelican feather on my desk
to help remind me how truly beautiful these creatures are,
even though each day they treat my boat like a public restroom.
Damn birds!
Damn beautiful birds!
Magnificent in flight, they’re all but crippled on land.
Even, people are magnificent when they soar, though,
rather than vegetate in front of the boob tube every  day.
Do these people dream?
Yes, of course.
Do they chase their dreams?
No, they’re as crippled as the pelicans.

Next month the egret I befriended and net fish for each year will return.
He is lovely beyond words, but uses me.
Some people are like that, getting by on their looks.
Don’t look too close or you’ll find a bottomless well of deceit and selfishness.
My well is more shallow, but we all have one of varying depths, don’t we?

(sigh) Yes indeed, and I pray we can all really reach for the stars in the near future and live our life by wings and light rather than by television images! (big hugggssssss) I love this, sweet friend, this should be in Reflections, BRAVO, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing!

Oh yes, Michael, this I too believe is your best. It is so honest, so deeply real and touching, matter-of-fact wisdom. Oh, I love this...did a great job...would like to see you write like this more often. Liked the images/meanings, re: birds, too.
