Camelot It's hard to breathe here. The air stands heavy; trees hold in the hanging vapors of plowed earth, and the moat stinks through the summer, especially after a siege. Could we have known then, tending our sheep on the fallow downs, how we would live, and what we would now trade for a day of simple sunlight, shining clouds, cold sibilant wind and the distant barking of a dog? |

It's hard to breathe here. The air stands heavy; trees hold in the hanging vapors of plowed earth, and the moat stinks through the summer, especially after a siege. these lines... set up much of being in a place of safety..that also confines... enjoyed this.. thoughtful..and in excerpt form such as this..makes the reader ponder both sides of what inspired.. |
