Once there was darkness in this life
One that nobody felt they could get past
Everyone looked so downtrodden
Where was their happiness

It was a rainy day
When a girl came in to town
A newcomer had come
Another person to talk them down

But as soon as she started to speak
it is like the rain went away
The people thought
Maybe God finally answered their prayers

It was like the sun came out
For the first time in years
All the towns people cried out with cheers
And tears of happiness flowed
The sun had finally came back to their lives

But as soon as the girl appeared
That is has fast as she disappeared
So all the towns people
Thanked god for sending their angel of light

Cold hands means a warm heart

Very nice and with an uplifting theme,
Question
Why does the fourth stanza have five lines,
Any extra significance to that, it easily could have been four.
Seems the poetic nature of this entire poem
Could have been tightened with greater attention to the meter,
But even still
A very nice poem as it is.
