Tonight I see the river,
...flow across the Kansas plain,
Above the drift of swirling current,
...I hear night wind's refrain,
As cottonwoods stand silent watch,
...beneath glow of Altair,
I reach to touch a primrose red,
...partake of beauty rare,
Is gone the bustle of the day,
...no sounds of man nor beast,
Midnight's calm upon the land,
...cool breeze from forth the east,
Amongst the flora and the fauna,
...amongst the creatures wild,
I am one with all that is,
...in night none be reviled.

Come my wife, your day is done,
...night chases 'way the gloam,
Sleep primrose of beauty rare,
...as to the night we roam.

how about submitting this for reflections...there's not much there dealing with the environment/intimacy such as this..enjoyed it
