We work real hard to earn a buck To help us out if we get stuck We live our lives and try our best But find it hard to pass each test Most laymen’s we, in way of way Unknowing, simply guess each day Withholding thoughts which should be said Not seeing issues put to bed We do the time of common man We try to figure what we can The hours seeming all so long Where does the call of right belong? We see the greed, the fight for strength The so-called right; to just what length? The common man with taint to bear With shacking heads, but who does care? We’re sheep that seem to follow All our leaders to tomorrow Who summon grief, to bear upon the soul of every man Each day brings further hardship As countries lose their friendship United we’d be stronger, now struggle as we can None, they know the outcome, of what will come to be Hopeful for tomorrow that peace we all will see The time is coming nearer When outcome should be clearer Let’s pray to God together you and me |
